The Amami Dorozome Tee from Studio D'Artisan is a slim-fit short sleeve built from U.S. cotton and finished using a traditional Japanese mud-dyeing process.

Cut from 100% North Carolinian cotton, the fabric has a soft, broken-in feel with a structured hand that holds its shape. Each tee is one-washed, then garment-dyed on Amami Oshima using Dorozome—an intricate process that produces rich, earthy tones with natural variation. The process of mud-dyeing involves two key stages. The branches taken from Hawthorne trees are first chopped before being simmered in water for two days. This creates the all-important tannin base which is required for mud dyeing. The ecru body tees are first soaked in this bath, prior to being introduced to the mud bath.

Sewn in Wakayama, it features a slim silhouette, ribbed collar, and USA cotton tag. The natural dyeing process gives every piece a unique depth of color while keeping the overall look understated and wearable.
